Bernadette Banda tells a compelling, emotional story about how she started her weight loss journey. She explains how she began her fitness journey back in February 2014 and, through the help of Dr. Alex Jimenez and PUSH Fitness has enlightened her to try crossfit fitness workouts. In this emotional and inspirational testimony, she explains how she started to look for different options to eat clean and start to change her lifestyle to live a long and healthier life. She talks about how she felt scared when she first met her trainer at PUSH Fitness and how that one little encounter has changed her life. She then started to push herself to not only better herself but also to better her health. With her faith in God, she got her motivation to lose the weight that she mentioned and explains that this is her lifestyle now. Through the dedication and the hard work that she put in, she was able to reach her goals, and it is all thanks to the encounter of Dr. Jimenez and the PUSH team that helped her get that determined drive that made her the person she is today. As many people know that going to the gym and trying to lose weight is scary. By taking that first step as Bernadette did, anyone can accomplish their goals by putting in the work to see the results. By finding the right people and the motivation, anyone can do their workouts, eating healthy, and have the emotional support to achieve their attainable goal. What Mrs. Banda mentions is that everyone can live a healthy lifestyle; all it takes that one little push and dedication to make anything possible. Even though it may seem hard and the journey can be grueling, anyone can do anything when they set their minds to it.Â
[00:00:00] My name is Bernadette Banda and I’m 51. My fitness journey began back in 2014 in February. And what I started to do is I started to eat clean. You know, at the request of my daughter who kept asking me, “Mom, you can do this, mom you can do this. You can get fit; you can lose weight.†I was sitting at 200 pounds. I was not feeling good about myself. I was not feeling good physically I’d hurt a lot and one day I was on LinkedIn. And Dr. Jimenez messaged me and asked me if I would join Crossfit and I thought who is this person and what is Crossfit, you know. And I thought well I’ve got nothing to lose man. So, I thought I’d go see this gym person and they are probably will look at me like “I got to work with you?†I mean, I was very scared. I was very nervous. I was like what am I doing here? I don’t belong to a gym. I know I need one but I don’t belong here. And he said, “What would you like to do?†I told him, “Well look at me.†He said, “Good, let’s get started.†I said, “Yes, lets.†It was that one little encounter that pushed me, that kept me motivated.
[00:01:10] People look at me like I’m an unattainable goal. I’m not. If I can do it anybody can do it. Believe me anyone can do it. I give my motivation, of course, to God. God above who has been good to me. So I need to be good to him back by taking care of myself and living a long life as I can. Because of this man’s kindness, this man’s professionalism, and because of this man’s business academic
[00:01:40] You can see it in his gym. You can see it in his trainers. Everybody roots for everybody here. This is the kind of gym I like being a part of. I want people to come in here and do what I do. Like I said I had nothing to lose, I had to try it.
[00:02:21] I am just thankful to have been blessed to know about this opportunity. Taking this opportunity, it’s been wonderful and it’s my way of thinking now, it’s my lifestyle.
[00:02:31] I can’t imagine my life without it now. I just can’t.
