Often times, when an individual is involved in a car accident, some type of injury happens. With these injuries, sometimes they are able to be felt right away, but other times, with injuries the adrenaline can hide them. For some patients, they begin to feel the effects of the crash after the adrenaline wears off and the stiffness, swelling, and inflammation set in. In this case, Manuel Lozano speaks about his personal experience being in a collision and how Dr. Alexander Jimenez cared for his whiplash injury. Manuel Lozano is a truck driver so his job demands long hours of sitting and inactivity. Sitting for long periods of time can often induce pain due to the lack of motion. The pain started to get increasingly painful for him. Over a period of days, he was suddenly unable to sleep due to being in pain and uncomfortable in any position he tried. For Manuel, pain is not an option. Manuel has a two-year-old son who needs to be played with and picked up. Manuel came in to see Dr. Jimenez to find the relief and treatment he needed. Dr. Jimenez was able to work on Manuel and create a customized plan for him. For his pain, Manuel received hot packs, electrical stimulation to bring blood flow to an area or traction to help elongate and decompress the spine, massage therapy to promote healing and loosen up the joints and muscles before the adjustment, and an adjustment from Dr. Jimenez. Dr. Jimenez believes that life revolves around motion and motion is what will heal. These strategies help each one of Dr. Jimenez patients heal not only the injury they have, but help prepare them for anything in the future. Dr. Jimenez truly cares for his patients and wants them to be able to live to be 100 years old. – Kenna Vaughn, Senior Health Coach
My name is Manuel Lozano. I do truck driving for a living. I was in the hit and run accident, so I had a small front end collision. Everybody’s rushing here in El Paso. So this guy cut me off and I actually ended up going into the back of his car, it threw me around in my own car a little bit. He just stopped way too quick and cut me off and ended up back behind his car, After the accident, I felt fine, you know , I walked away. I didn’t even go see a doctor and go to hospital. The pain really started maybe like a couple of days afterwards. I started feeling everything very tight and like I said, I couldn’t stretch out my back. I couldn’t lay down because it was pain. I have a two year old son also, so it was hard for me to, you know, to play with him like I regularly do, pick him up and throw him up in the air. I couldn’t even sleep anymore because I couldn’t lay down without having pain. The longer I kept coming, the less pain I would have and the more I would be able to move around. And this is something that Dr Alex always told me, that movements is life. You Know, the more that I started coming here, the more I was able to move, the more I was able to play with my son, the more I was able to carry on with my regular life. You know, the things that Dr. Alex always tells us how to live a better life. He’s not just worried about what we came here for, he’s worried about us being able to have a better life and better quality of living. I would definitely recommend it.
