Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common foot pains that has affected more than 3 million individuals and can be the cause of heel pain. It starts with inflammation on a thick band of tissue, known as the plantar fascia, that is located and runs on the bottom of the foot connecting the heel bone to the toe joints. When inflammation occurs near the heel bone, it can cause a stabbing pain feeling near the inflamed heel and can become worst later on. For Gloria, she has suffered from plantar fasciitis from doing everyday activities like walking to and fro from her house. She explained how she would walk at least an hour to an hour and a half every day and that it causes her pain. She talks about how the pain would travel from her feet all the way to her shoulders causing her pain and stiffness in her body. She explained how Dr. Jimenez introduced her to custom foot orthotics and how it changed her life. She explained how the custom foot orthotics have helped her relieved her plant fasciitis symptoms as well as mentioning how her feet were being supported and were very comfortable. By using custom foot orthotics, these inserts are customed to the individual and can help relieve any foot symptoms that they may have. With custom orthotics, they can last for about 7 years through the usual wear and tear of everyday walking. Ever since Gloria has been using her custom foot orthotics, she has been able to things she loves like walking, gardening, and never stopping. Custom foot orthotics can even help a person walk correctly by aligning the person’s foot from rolling either outwards or inwards to perfect alignment so the body does not feel crooked and causing dysfunction and later on pain and discomfort.
[00:00:14] My name is Gloria. I’m a patient of Dr. Jimenez. I originally came here with a lot of pain, a lot of stiffness on my feet, my legs, my hips, and my shoulders.
[00:00:28] I have a three-quarter acre. I live alone. So that’s a lot of walking.
[00:00:34] My pain gradually started with plantar fasciitis. I would walk every day at least an hour, an hour and a half every day. And it started getting worse and worse. The last maybe three, four years, my feet gradually started feeling like they were crunching up.
[00:00:54] I did not feel the bottom of my feet on the floor. And with that, I started feeling pain on my feet. My energy level was low. I would get tired. I would have to take a break. Herewith working the wrist, it’s not going to work and that it would wear me out. I mean, I would wear out so much quicker because of my feet. The orthotics from the first day that I saw the advertisement made a lot of sense to me because the other ones that I had are generic and they’re made for everybody. That made me realize these are made for everybody, they’re not really helping me. I realized that’s what I needed, something to be made exactly to my feet.
[00:01:46] Because I had already realized the bottom of my foot, the arch was already not where it should have been. They said we can get you on that machine where I guess, it takes your picture, whatever it is.
[00:01:55] From there I had them on about maybe eight to 10 days later.
[00:01:56] And oh my gosh, when I got them, my feet went from this to that. For the first time, I felt my whole foot was on the ground and supporting. It’s so comfortable, especially the bottom, it feels like I’m walking on a cushion that whole foot, the whole foot. I love walking. I love the garden. I don’t stop. I mean, I’m going to go until I drop.
[00:02:27] This has really put me back. I would say pretty much.
[00:02:32] The way I used to be able to do things about maybe 5, 6 years back, that’s where it’s written.
